Mexico is now on the brink of being assured of a spot in the knockout stage of the World Cup after defeating South Korea 2-1 in an exciting match at the Rostov Arena in Rostov-On-Don last night. It was Mexico’s second victory after a stunning win against 2014 champions Germany last week. Mexico took a lead in the 25th minute when Carlos Velo put in a penalty kick before forward Javier Hernandez scored the second goal in the 65th minute. But in the 92nd minute of extra time, South Korea’s Son Heung-Min curled in a superb shot from outside the penalty box.
