Germany battled from behind to keep alive their hopes of qualifying for the last 16 by edging out Sweden 2-1 in the World Cup tournament at the Fisht Stadium in Sochi this morning. Sweden took the lead in the 32nd minute. The Germans equalized in the 48th minute but just seconds before the final whistle, Germany’s Toni Kroos put in the second and winning goal with a free kick.
