About 85 students of the Faculty of Education of Loei Rajabhat University filed a complaint with Khon Kaen Muang district police accusing the university administration that they were duped into believing that they would be issued with a teaching license after their graduation.
Representing the complainants, Mr Supanat Chanthra, a fifth-year student majoring in computer science, told Pol Lt-Col Sutat Paiboon, the deputy superintendent, that they chose to enroll at the faculty of education because they were assured by the university that they would be issued with teaching licenses after their graduation.
He said they were now in the fifth year of their study and would soon graduate, but when they asked the administration when would they receive their teaching licenses, they were told that the university could not issue the licenses to them.
He added that the administration had claimed they had been in contact with the Office of Higher Education Commission and the Office of the Secretary-General of Khurusapha (teacher’s council) “but there is still no definite answer.”
