Every few years, the LGBTQ+ communities and allies descend on a city for a jam-packed, multi-week programme of events celebrating pride. World Pride is the brainchild of InterPride – an organisation that brings together Pride organisers from across the world to network, share knowledge, and maximise the impact of their equality efforts.
The first World Pride took place in Rome in 2000. Since then, cities including London (2012), Toronto (2014), Madrid (2017) and Sydney (2023) have hosted the event, with interest increasing over the years, resulting in millions passing through each destination to take part in the action.
