Win a stay at The Standard, London

Written by Travel Adventures

The prize winner and a guest will spend two nights in a Junior Suite Terrace, the biggest and most luxurious room type, on a bed-and-breakfast basis. Set on the eighth floor, the spacious room is California-inspired, with lots of natural wood and retro furniture. There’s a balcony overlooking the streets of King’s Cross and even an outdoor bath for a long soak after a busy day exploring the capital.

The communal spaces are buzzy, with Seventies details and vibrant carpets. Supper at Double Standard, the ground-floor restaurant and bar, is included in the prize, with a menu that nods to the hotel’s sister outposts in the USA – order a juicy blue-cheese and bacon burger or bavette steak with fondant chips.

The hotel is within walking distance of urban-cool King’s Cross eating-drinking-shopping spot Coal Drops Yard, as well as quirky bars – we like record studio/bar hybrid Spiritland – and restaurants (book a table for Israeli brunch at Coal Office).
