As airlines grapple with rising jet fuel prices due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East and disruptions to access to resources in the Strait of Hormuz, travellers may be fearful about whether their summer holidays will go ahead as planned.
For any travellers jetting off with easyJet in the coming months, the airline has launched a ‘Book with Confidence Promise’, designed to quell holidaymakers’ fears ahead of the peak summer travel months.
In a statement released on Friday 1 May, Kenton Jarvis, EasyJet’s CEO, said, “We understand that global events may affect travellers’ confidence at the moment, but we believe that everyone has a right to book their flights and holidays with confidence.
“That’s why we’re launching our ‘Book with Confidence Promise’. Our customers won’t be charged any more after they book, including no fuel surcharges, and package holiday customers can continue to benefit from Ultimate Flexibility when they book with easyJet Holidays.”
Reassuring uncertain customers that their travel plans are safe following the airline’s busiest Easter period to date, easyJet’s latest promises state that the cost of flights and holiday packages will stay fixed once a booking is confirmed and that customers will never experience any fare increases after booking.
The airline has also confirmed that it intends to run a full schedule across its network.
Options available to customers as part of the promises include‘Ultimate Flexibility’ with easyJet Holidays, which allows travellers to change their plans until 28 days before travel. Customers can also cancel up to 60 days before travel, with any deposit refunded as easyJet holidays credit to put towards another trip of their choice.
What should I do if easyJet cancel my flight?
In addition to the new plans laid out by the UK government at the start of May, there are several options available to EasyJet customers should flights be cancelled over the summer period.
Their latest statement, released on Friday 1 May, reiterates, “In the event airlines are forced to cancel any flight, customers are always guaranteed a flight voucher, refund or an alternative flight. For any holidays that are cancelled, customers will be offered an alternative holiday or full refund.”
