The least-crowded places to visit in the UK



Word that the UK is fully booked for the staycation summer of 2021 is premature and, frankly, entirely inaccurate. The country may fall into the top 50 of the world’s most densely populated, with 2020 reports stating that there are an average of 5,700 people per square kilometre in London. And there may be a scones-, cream- and jam-based fight going on around Devon and Cornwall for cottages and hotel rooms. But look further afield and it’s a breeze to find space in some of its less-visited and infinitely less-crowded counties: here are five of our favourites.
