Jennifer recalls her mother and sister joining her at the very beginning of the trip, followed by a quick visit from her children during filming. Reminiscing about what made the location unique, she said, “What’s so special is that there are so many different Nantuckets you can experience. You can hike and bike and be lost in the middle of the island on beautiful natural trails. You can be a beach bum all day, go on a shopping trip, or have a food journey and enjoy lobster mac and cheese, lobster quesadillas, lobster ravioli, lobster everything – so much good stuff! You can even have a full Ellen Hildebrand Nantucket experience. We met a lot of women in book groups going to experience everything Ellen, and that looked like a lot of fun!”
Which real-life Nantucket locations feature in The Five-Star Weekend?
After initial filming in Los Angeles, the cast and crew of The Five-Star Weekend headed to Nantucket, a picturesque island south of Cape Cod, Massachusetts, for just over three weeks.
Residents and travellers familiar with the island may recognise some of the island’s dazzling coastal corners and iconic hideouts. According to Yahoo! Travel, these include the Wicked Island Bakery, the tasty passion project of husband-and-wife team Ben and Heather Woodbury. Ben trained at the French Culinary Institute after a childhood in NYC, while Heather runs the show with 15 years of restaurant experience under her belt.
Another spot is the Hatch’s Package Store off-licence – sure to be a popular stop-off for fans of the series as well as those looking to pick up a bottle of wine and snacks.
Parade also reports that Eel Point Road serves as one of the series’ primary filming locations, with one of the beautiful estates serving as the exterior of Hollis Shaw’s beach house. The magazine also cites seafood restaurant Cru, American diner Stubby’s, and Chatham Beach and Tennis Club as filming locations to keep an eye out for.
