Nomadic, Buckinghamshire & Various Locations

Described as a ‘restaurant without walls’, Nomadic began hosting its feasts in 2018. The founders discovered a vast clearing in a Buckinghamshire forest filled with abandoned cars. They began rewilding the area and tasked a local craftsman with forging a huge table from a tree that had fallen in a storm. Today, the team hosts private events, weddings and woodland feasts. The latter includes a foraging tour followed by a seasonally inspired meal cooked over an open fire. After the meal, guests can toast marshmallows and sip handpicked herbal teas around a giant sunken fire pit. New this year are its Gathered weekend escapes, where the team will pop up around the UK, offering activities such as truffle hunting, wild swimming and fishing.

Fire + Wild, Various Location

Fire + Wild’s mission is to bring people closer to nature, fire and food. It travels between wild locations around the UK across the seasons – from ancient woodlands to remote beaches. The team take a hands-on, hunter-gatherer approach to sourcing its ingredients. Its small team includes expert foragers, trained hunters, chefs and a sommelier who all work together to gather the wild plants, mushrooms, fish and game for the feasts they cook. Its next event takes place near Altrincham in Cheshire. The experience begins with a guided foraging walk and introduction to the landscape, moving into game preparation and a fire skills session before everyone comes together to cook – then eat – the likes of trout, wild boar and chanterelle mushrooms, all paired with wine and wild cocktails.

Oxmoor Farm, Buckinghamshire

Wild Feasts at Oxmoor Farm is a rural supper-club series that transforms the bucolic landscapes of the Chiltern Hills into a vibrant stage for the next generation of chefs to showcase their talent. Now in its fifth year, Wild Feasts has a stronger focus than ever on fire-led cooking and open-fire experiences – and the farm will be sourcing all the ingredients and wine exclusively from the region. Cooking the feasts will be some of Britain’s most exciting young chefs, including Holly Middleton-Joseph of Peckham hotspot Hausu, and Will Rhys Hamer, who hosts open-fire events across the UK, Scandinavia and the Arctic as the Wilder Kitchen.
