An Airbus (A350-1000ULR) recently spent more than 24 hours and 24 minutes in the air, flying nonstop from Melbourne to Toulouse and covering 23,075 km. The July 2026 development flight test, conducted as part of the aircraft’s development for Qantas’ Project Sunrise, is believed to be the longest nonstop flight by a commercial jet.
But this was a test flight, not a passenger service. Among flights travellers can actually book, Singapore Airlines’ New York JFK–Singapore route currently holds the distinction of being the world’s longest scheduled passenger service. It covers 15,349 km, measured by great-circle distance (GCD), the shortest distance between two points on the Earth’s surface, and takes an average of 18 hours and 40 minutes.
There are, however, plenty of other routes that push the limits of long-haul travel. Below, we have ranked the 10 longest scheduled nonstop passenger routes by GCD. The list uses OAG Schedules Analyser data, as published by OAG in May 2026. Flight schedules, aircraft and operating patterns can change.
