COVID-19 infections in Thailand continue to surge, with 559 new cases recorded today (Friday), compared to yesterday’s 405, including 268 cases in Bangkok alone. 138 are among those under observation and treatment and 130 were found during proactive screening, according to the CCSA.
One more fatality was recorded, raising the death toll to 96.
Of the new infections, 549 are locally-acquired and 10 are among are arrivals from abroad in state quarantine.
New infections have now been recorded in 33 of Thailand’s 77 provinces, mostly related to entertainment outlets. Infections among those under observation and found during proactive screening include:

Cumulative infections, since early last year, are 30,869, with 28,128 recoveries. 2,645 others are still being treated in hospitals.
Cumulative infections, since December 15th, are 26,632, including 16,838 cases found during proactive screening and 8,381 among those under observation and treatment.
