The Pheu Thai party decided to postpone its press briefing, scheduled for today (Thursday,) to explain its progress on forming the government, said deputy leader Phumtham Wechayachai.

The postponement was announced after the Constitutional Court decided to delay to August 16 the consideration of an Ombudsman petition for the Court to rule on the constitutionality of the parliamentary decision to reject the renomination of the Move Forward leader as prime minister.

The court also decided to postpone the issuance of an injunction to suspend the prime ministerial selection process, as requested by the ombudsman, to the same date.

Phumtham said that, because of this, the press briefing will be delayed until the Court delivers its ruling. He confirmed that the campaign to gather support from other parties to support Srettha Thavisin as the prime minister is underway.

It is believed that Phumtham had planned to reveal the names of parties agreeing to join a Pheu Thai-led coalition government today.
