Best for: a spa weekend
My bank holiday checklist tends to go a little like so: slow-paced, lots of fresh air, good food, a few glasses of delicious wine, and stress-free. It’s why I opt for a staycation rather than a trip abroad, because three days is not best spent clambering through busy airports, in my humble opinion. So, hopping on a train to the Cotswolds is ideal, and door-to-door barely fills up the morning if you’re coming from London like I am. The Dormy House & Hotel is one of, if not the, best country hotels in the area. As custodians of 500 acres of countryside, there are endless stomps to be had around the property and into the local village of Broadway. But, really, the House Spa is the hotel highlight, with its outdoor hot tub, indoor pool, thermal Suite, aromatic steam room, experience showers and Himalayan salt sauna. That’s where you’d find me, luxuriating with a good book before heading upstairs for an excellent slice of cake and tea.
