On Location peels back the curtain on some of your favourite films, television shows, and more. For this edition, we look into the world of Man Vs Baby.

Trevor Bingley fondly remembers Christmases spent with his ex-wife and daughter. One thing he’d probably rather forget, however, is his past life as a house sitter for luxurious properties, thanks to his disastrous encounter with a bumblebee – documented in none other than 2022’s Man Vs Bee.

However, three years have passed since the encounter, and Trevor (played by Rowan Atkinson) is faced with spending Christmas alone. His school caretaker position in the local village school has come to an end after seven months, and his daughter is being whisked away to Barbados by her mum and stepfather.

Trevor Bingley finds himself in quite the festive pickle armed with an abandoned baby

Mid-school-nativity, a caller informs Trevor that he’s still on the books – and there’s a London penthouse in need of housesitting over the Christmas period. However, no one has claimed the baby left on the school’s doorstep for the nativity, and with Christmas looming, there’s little help out there – so Trevor has little choice but to take his little friend along for the ride until the authorities come to the rescue.

Chaos ensues against a backdrop of London’s glittering skyline – but where was Man Vs Baby filmed? We take a look at the key locations worth keeping an eye out for.

Aldbury Village

We reunite with Trevor Bingley in his cottage, a short drive from a village – played by the real-life village of Aldbury, in Hertfordshire. The charming village sits within the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and records of Aldbury Manor date back to the 1086 Domesday Book. It’s home to a historic church, village hall and a pub-with-rooms, The Greyhound Inn.

Epping Ongar Railway Station

As Trevor desperately attempts to make it to his 5pm house sitter interview in London, he pulls up at Epping Ongar Railway Station – the longest heritage railway in Essex and the closest to London.
