Las Vegas(LVN) — The world is mourning the loss of one of the most beloved and enduring entertainers of all time. Dolly Rebecca Parton, the legendary singer, songwriter, actress, philanthropist and cultural icon known around the world as the “Queen of Country Music,” has died at the age of 80.
Her family announced her passing Tuesday, August 25, 2026. The cause of death has not been publicly disclosed.
For nearly six decades, Dolly Parton gave the world something far greater than music. She gave us her heart.
From her humble beginnings in the mountains of East Tennessee, Dolly built an extraordinary career through her remarkable voice, unforgettable songwriting, determination, humor and unmistakable personality. She became one of the most successful recording artists in history, selling more than 100 million records worldwide and writing approximately 3,000 songs.
