July CaseSafe luggage review: I tested the world’s first un-losable suitcase on a 14-hour flight to Seoul – here’s the verdict

I also had to drag it up some steps at the tube station while it was completely full, and it withstood the multiple bangs like a champ. There was no issues with the telescopic handle sliding up and down when very full, which I do sometimes find to be the case with certain brands, so that was a plus point for me. The custom-designed twin spinner wheels are whisper-quiet, gliding over smooth airport polished concrete and uneven pavements with identical ease.

The July CaseSafe on test

The internal layout is equally thoughtful. Firstly, I was really struck by the aesthetics – the caramel-and-chocolate interior felt really expensive at first glance. It was a treat to open. With a roomy 80-litre capacity, this is more than ample for a two week trip (or, if you’re like me, a weeklong trip in which I bought home half of all the Korean skincare in the country). Either way, it’s a capacious option that holds up well when filled to the brim.

Inside, one side features a heavy-duty mesh zip compartment, while the other has a highly effective compression pad system that allows you to squeeze in plenty of extra items – ideal for anyone planning a serious wardrobe rotation for city exploration, or the aforementioned skincare haul from Olive Young.

Tracking functionality

The defining feature of the CaseSafe is, of course, the integrated tracker. Because it’s built right into the structure of the suitcase, there’s no faffing around with separate devices. You cannot lose the tracker, it doesn’t take up precious packing space, and it pairs seamlessly with standard smartphone location networks. I pulled the security tag out of the tracker, and my phone instantly asked if I wanted to connect to the case – it took seconds. It works with both Android and Apple networks and, on test, connected seamlessly to both networks without issue.

On arrival in Seoul, the technology delivered exactly what it promised: absolute reassurance. Opening my app while still taxiing on the runway, I could instantly see that my suitcase had successfully made it to the airport and was sitting in the terminal. For frequent flyers who dread the black hole of lost luggage, this peace of mind is worth the entry price alone.

After checking my case, I could see that it had made it to the plane at Heathrow
