Written by Thailand News

Former prime minister of Malaysia Najib Razak arrived at the Jalan Duta Courts Complex in Kuala Lumpur this morning to face corruption charges related to the scandal in the state fund 1MDB.

Najib was arrested yesterday and spent the night in detention at the headquarters of the Malaysian Ant-Corruption Commission.  Malaysian media said Najib is expected to be slapped with several counts of  criminal breach of trust linked to transactions involving SRC International Sdn Bhd, a former 1MDB subsidiary.

The prosecution will be led by recently appointed attorney-general Tommy Thomas, news website Malaysiakini reported, adding that former first lady Mansor Rosmah is expected to be present as her husband is formally charged.
