EC sets campaign spending limits for constituency candidates and parties

Today (Friday), Thailand’s Election Commission disclosed the maximum amount that each constituency candidate and each party can spend during pre-election campaigning.

Campaign spending is divided into two types.

Firstly, if the House lasts through its four-year term, the maximum spending during the 180 days between the date the Election Commission announced date of the election and election day is seven million baht for a constituency candidate and 163 million baht for each party.

In case the House is dissolved before the end of its term, the campaign spending is calculated from the date of the House dissolution until election day. 1.9 million baht is allowed for each constituency candidate and 44 million baht for each party.
