Government officials will be able to choose when their salaries are paid, once or twice a month, said Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin today (Thursday).
After the first cabinet meeting on Wednesday, Srettha told the media that, tentatively from January 1, the new options for payment of civil service salaries will be introduced.
The issue is being widely debated, forcing Srettha to reiterate today that being paid biweekly is just an option for the individual employee.
He denied reports that a lack of state funds is behind the change. Government officials could choose how their monthly salaries would be paid, once or twice a month, said Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin on Thursday.
