Four-time champion Brazil sailed through to the knockout stage of the World Cup last night after beating Serbia 2-0. Jose Paulo Paulinho scored the opening goal in the 36th minute and Emiliano Thiago Silva headed home a corner kick from Neymar in the 68th minute to seal the fate of the Serbs. Brazil, which clinched the top spot in Group E, will now face off Mexico which lost to Sweden 0-3 but still managed to hang on to the next round on Monday.
