Bangkok and 37 other provinces are still facing high levels of PM2.5 airborne pollution, but the situation is expected to improve tomorrow through next Saturday, the Pollution Control Department reported today.
Meanwhile, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) reports that, during the first two weeks of this month, 113 people visited the city’s 8 air pollution clinics seeking treatment for pollution-related symptoms, compared to 100 during the same period last year.
Deputy Bangkok Governor Tavida Kamolvej said that most of the patients are from Bang Kor Laem, Nong Khaem, Bang Khae, Nong Chok, Yan Nawa and Bang Khun Thian districts, which have been hit by continuous and excessive levels of PM2.5.
The clinics are open from Monday to Friday from 8am through 3pm at Central, Taksin, Charoen Krung Pracharak, Sirindhorn, Ratchaphiphat, Luang Por Thawisak, Wecharakarunrat and Nakarapiban hospitals.
According to the Air Pollution Mitigation Centre, PM2.5 readings across the country today were:
- 2-109.9µg/m³ in most northern provinces
- 3-54.9µg/m³ in six areas of the north-eastern region
- 9-66.5µg/m³ in most central and western regions
- 1-53.8µg/m³ in four areas in the eastern region
- 8-29.0µg/m³ in southern provinces
- 7-43.2µg/m³ in and around Bangkok
