Thailand’s deputy national police chief, Pol Gen Surachate Hakparn, went to the Central Women’s Correctional Institution in Bangkok on Saturday to question serial murder suspect Sararat Rangsiwuthaporn about the brand name handbag, believed to belong to a poisoning victim, sent recently to Sararat’s close friend.

Surachate was accompanied by a “Ms. Kaew”, the recipient of a parcel containing the handbag and a few other personal items believed to belong to have belonged to Siriporn, one of the deceased victims. It was mailed to her from an address in Tha Makha district of Kanchanaburi province, where the suspect’s parents have their residence.

Siriporn’s sister has confirmed that the handbag belonged to her sister, together with a cell phone and two coin wallets found in the handbag. She also said that another cell phone which belonged to her sister is still missing.

Sararat’s statement about the handbag will be part of the prosecution evidence to be presented at trial.
