Battersea Power Station restaurants are like safe havens among the hustle and bustle of what’s become one of London’s shopping utopias. After many years falling into gradual deterioration, the former power plant was painstakingly transformed into the glistening attraction we know today, opening its doors as a new shopping and leisure destination in October 2022. Inside, designer shops and sprawling high street favourites galore, with a roster of events for little ones and big kids alike luring the uninitiated inside.
Through the chillier months, it’s a cosy place to tick plenty of boxes in one go, while, come summer, the fun spills out onto the riverside, with activities, mini-festivals and food markets making visits an al-fresco affair. Once the shopping bags are loaded and legs start to ache – or kids kick off after being denied the toy they had their heart momentarily set on – it’s time to eat; and there’s no shortage of options in these parts now. From a beloved Indian restaurant to a splendid spot via a chic Italian hideout, these are the best places to eat in and around Battersea Power Station on your next visit.
Tonkotsu Battersea
Best for: Hearty fare
Noodle, ramen bowls, curries and hand-crafted sides washed down with tipples from a tidy cocktail list – what more could you ask for after a stroll through Battersea Park or a whizz around the Power Station? ‘The original’ is a hearty bowl of thin-cut noodles, pork broth with lardo, sea salt base, roast pork belly, bamboo shoots, bean sprouts, egg and burnt garlic oil; but there’s plenty more to choose from besides. From noodle salads tossed with marinated sticky prawns and soya mince to slurp-able bowls of kakugiri and chilli chicken broths; there are also options tailored to vegans and vegetarians so all the gang can get stuck in. Feeling brave? Take on the scotch bonnet shot.

Megan’s Battersea Power Station
Best for: Riverside brunching
Megan’s is SW11’s ultimate brunch spot, where fairy lights twinkle inside and plush cushions invite diners to settle in for chatty feasts that whisk the entirety of the afternoon away. There are now Megan’s’ across London, but primarily in the south west, and the laughter and cutlery clinking can be heard long before the restaurants come into sight in corners such as Wandsworth Town and Clapham. The benefit of feasting on the likes of Turkish tapas, Mediterranean mezze and an array of small plates at the Battersea branch, mind, is the terrace that opens up during the summer, serving a side of eventful people-watching as tangy cocktails are sipped under the sun.
