The Royal Thai Police have placed on standby three helicopters and three rescue teams which can be flown immediately at the first notice.
Meanwhile on the ground, forest rangers of the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation, army special force and border patrol policemen continued their search for tunnels or huge cracks on Doi Pa Mee which may help in getting rescue teams into the cave.
The search, this time, was aided by GPS equipment brought in by rescue team from Derbyshire Cave Rescue Organization which was flown into Chiang Rai from London on Wednesday night.
Latest report said that the search team located the fourth tunnel which is about one metre wide and 20 metres deep. An official was dropped into the tunnel for a survey.
Report said that it was possible that the tunnel could lead to the underground cave and drilling of the wall was needed but the team would have to wait for the official to emerge from the tunnel first with the information about the tunnel so that it could be assessed for the next move.
Three other tunnels were earlier located, but officials would have to assess first which of the tunnels has the potential to lead to the cave chamber below.
Sniffer dogs are being planned to be brought in to help in the search operation.
