Primavera Sound Barcelona, Spain

Best for: indie favorites and major headliners

Next dates: 2–5 June 2027
Headliners: Phoebe Bridgers, Massive Attack, Robyn, Caroline Polachek, Turnstile and Skrillex
Tickets: On sale from €295 (£249) plus fees for the standard fan-sale pass.

Few European music festivals have quite the same reputation for bringing together some of the biggest names in indie, alternative rock, pop and electronic music as Primavera Sound. Taking over Barcelona’s waterfront Parc del Fòrum each summer, the festival has previously welcomed everyone from Charli XCX and Chappell Roan to Sabrina Carpenter, and its 25th edition in 2027 promises another stellar line-up, with Phoebe Bridgers, Massive Attack, Robyn and Turnstile among the confirmed acts. There’s no camping here, so festivalgoers can spend their days exploring Barcelona’s beaches, restaurants and cultural attractions before heading to the stages in the afternoon and evening. For those who prefer a slightly more laid-back atmosphere, Primavera Sound also has a sister festival in Porto, taking place a week later in the city’s leafy Parque da Cidade, with four-day passes already on sale.

Roskilde Festival, Denmark

Best for: music, art and community

Next dates: 26 June–3 July 2027
Headliners: Tame Impala, Caroline Polachek, Kacey Musgraves, Patti Smith Quartet and more announced acts
Tickets: On sale

Thanks to a stellar roster of acts arriving from across the globe, Roskilde is one of the hottest tickets in Denmark each summer. Previous editions have welcomed everyone from Charli XCX and Olivia Rodrigo to Stormzy and Doechii, while Tame Impala, Caroline Polachek and Kacey Musgraves are among the first names confirmed for 2027. But music is just the tip of the iceberg at this eight-day festival, which transforms the fields outside the Danish city of Roskilde into a temporary community of music lovers, artists and creatives. Sit in on debates, discover contemporary art installations, take part in workshops or simply soak up the atmosphere before heading back to the stages. Roskilde is also one of Europe’s largest non-profit music festivals, with proceeds supporting charitable causes, so there’s another reason to feel good about attending. Tickets for 2027 are already on sale, with full festival passes and shorter options available.
