There are two types of traveller who’ll really love this. Firstly, overpackers, who’ll appreciate how effortlessly it’ll slot into clear security liquids pouches. Then those who simply want to make things as easy as possible when on-the-move, given that it comes in its own wipe-clean clear travel case, so you can just toss it in your carry-on for sorted skincare for the foreseeable, no extra thought required.
So what’s in the set?
It begins with the Be Your Best Enzyme Balm Cleanser, an oil-based formula made with almond and borage oils that melts away travel grime and daily SPF. Next is Tiptoe In, a gentle PHA (A chemical exfoliant similar to AHAs and BHAs with larger molecules, thus staying on the outer layer of the skin instead of sinking in deep, helps prevent irritation for sensitive skin types) to slough off dead skin. Trinny Skincare Discovery Set review
Now, I can’t make any punchy claims about the efficacy of these products, but after trialling them on a recent weekender in the Cotswolds, I can say I was pleasantly surprised with the results. Firstly, there’s a lot of product in each tub – you’ll get at least a month’s daily use from this set – meaning you could be sorted for holiday skincare for an entire year’s worth of trips. On test, each formula felt silky-smooth on my skin, absorbing well and leaving my face feeling fresh and comfortable afterwards.
The moisturiser was hands-down my favourite – it has a lovely calming fragrance and melted into my often-dehydrated skin very quickly without leaving any oiliness. I would genuinely purchase the full-size of this. I was suspicious of the oil cleanser initially, as I’ve found them sometimes to leave a residue on my skin (although I find one to be a must-have when wearing waterproof mascara), but this one performed a lot better than my prior buy, with no trace of product left after my shower.
