On Location peels back the curtain on some of your favourite films, television shows, and more. This time, we ask: where was Ride or Die filmed?
Despite telling those she encounters on her jet-setting that she’s a forensic accountant, Judith Burton (Hannah Waddingham) is a highly skilled assassin. Her best friend Debbie (Octavia Spencer) thought they knew everything about each other until a dangerous figure emerges from Judith’s past and the duo are forced to go on the run together.
As their worlds are turned upside down during a perilous, yet hilarious, road trip through Europe, we’re introduced to a host of characters – some more menacing than others.
In addition to Hannah and Octavia, the brand-new Prime Video series sees Bill Nighy step into the shoes of The Director, a calculating mastermind who brings a wealth of knowledge from his time in Cold War espionage to the assassins’ agency Judith works for. Other cast members include Sylvia Hoeks as Redback, who’s set on hunting Juditch down, Ed Skrein as the uber-charming yet sinister Billy Donovan, and Calam Lynch as Sam, the agency handler with a steady voice in the ears of meticulous killers.
Where was Ride or Die filmed?
Production took place in the Czech Republic, primarily in Prague, between February and June 2025.
Speaking about the temporary move to the City of a Hundred Spires to The Upcoming, Bill Nighy said, “My memory is shot, and I can probably tell you what happened in 1973, but anything after about 1980, it’s a mystery. I only know that I was in Prague, where I had never been before, and I loved Prague, and I would like to go back there as a citizen, but I doubt that I will, as I always think that when I go to places I like and I never go back because I’m always working – which I’m not complaining about.”
