It’s no secret that the Condé Nast Traveller editors love a Greek island escape, and when it comes to what to pack for a quick trip to Mykonos, Santorini or Paros, we’ve learnt the importance of whittling our luggage contents down to the essentials, without compromising on style. As I packed for my first Greek escape of the season, the warnings of lengthy passport control queues were fresh in my mind, so I was keen to avoid checking in a suitcase and elongate the process any more. Here’s everything I packed in my carry-on for three nights in Mykonos, from the ultimate evening outfit to beach essentials and hardworking accessories.
One co-ord for wandering around town
There aren’t many places I travel to without a breezy linen co-ord in tow. Its versatility is paramount, as is its effortlessness. In fact, it can be all too easy to fill a suitcase with ample options if space is unlimited. But if you’re anything like me, there’s always a set that returns home unworn. For three days, one was the perfect amount. I wore a powder-blue shirt and shorts set from Na-Kd for a wander through Mykonos marina and then kept it on hand to throw over a bikini by the pool at my hotel thereafter. I’d buy this set in every colour; the wide sleeves elevate the look (and add to its breezy nature) and the weight of the linen means it drapes well. Top tip: pack a small steamer to eliminate creases on arrival.
