International Tennis Hall of Fame, Newport
For a really classic American country club aesthetic, look no further than the International Tennis Hall of Fame in Newport. As well as hosting an annual open with ATP and WPA players, the original site of the US Open is also available to hire for weddings. There are multiple venues to choose from, including the horseshoe-shaped covered porch and lawn, the Hall of Famers’ gallery and porch, with its comfy sofas and greenery, and the Upper and Lower East Porch, which overlook the grass courts. You must book well in advance though, as weddings here are very popular.

Puesto Viejo Polo Club, Argentina
Under an hour from Buenos Aires airport, the Puesto Viejo Polo Club is particularly appealing as a wedding venue as guests can also stay on site, with a boutique hotel with 28 rooms attached to the club. Upon arrival, you are greeted by a grand, white-facade colonial-style building, with palm trees framing the entrance, and manicured lawns and lush greenery as far as the eye can see. Weddings here make the most of the beautiful surroundings, which also include a lake with a pretty bridge across it. Excellent local cuisine and Latin music are par for the course, naturally.

York Racecourse, UK
One of the UK’s oldest and most prestigious sporting venues, York Racecourse was built in 1731 – though it’s had a facelift since then. Set within 150 acres of parkland, guests can enjoy wandering through the grounds before and after the ceremony, with a wedding breakfast prepared by in-house caterers for up to 300 guests. As a wedding venue, its major USP is that it is the only place in York where you can get married on a top-floor balcony with York Minster in the background, which, of course, only adds to its appeal.
