The Cocktail Trading Co. Brick Lane

Well, we’ve had speakeasy bars and rooftop garage bars, bars disguised as Victorian apothecaries and bars dressed as Forties Tube stations. Here, at last, is a cocktail bar that resembles a pub. A funky pub, that is, with a dinosaur skull on the bar, framed vintage copies of Private Eye and musical caricatures on the walls, and copies of The Savoy Cocktail Book on the shelves. Everything here – on- and off-menu – is priced at £13.50. The menu changes regularly but is always playful. At the moment, it’s themed around games – cocktails like the Cluedo Club (gin, honeyed peach, blackberry, earlgrey, egg white) or the Quinine’s Gambit (rum, bittered vermouth, yuzu, vanilla). This is a funky, creative drinking den.
