The Honorable Jackie Glass, a former Clark County District Court Judge, has passed away.
Jackie was the wife of current Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson and the mother of Municipal Court Judge Rebecca Wolfson and Rachel Wolfson.
Jackie became nationally known for presiding over the highly publicized 2008 O.J. Simpson armed robbery trial.
Before beginning her distinguished career in law, Jackie was already well on her way to an accomplished career in broadcasting.
A 1978 graduate of the University of Georgia with a degree in journalism, Jackie moved to Las Vegas and began her broadcasting career as a radio news reporter at KORK-AM 920. She later transitioned to television, joining KTNV-TV Channel 13 as a reporter before eventually becoming a news anchor.
Much of Jackie’s reporting focused on the crime beat. That experience helped ignite her passion for the law and ultimately led her to the University of San Diego School of Law, where she earned her law degree in 1984.
Jackie went on to spend 18 years as a litigator before serving nearly nine years on the Clark County District Court bench.
In 2008, Jackie presided over the trial of Nevada v. Simpson. O.J. Simpson faced armed robbery and kidnapping charges stemming from an attempt to retrieve sports memorabilia from dealers at a Las Vegas hotel. On October 3, 2008, Simpson was found guilty on all counts. Jackie sentenced him to 9 to 33 years in prison. He was released on parole in 2017 and died in 2024.
Jackie served as a judge in the Eighth Judicial District Court from 2003 until her retirement from the bench in 2011.
Following her retirement, Jackie returned to her broadcasting roots, hosting the nationally syndicated daytime television program Swift Justice. After the conclusion of the program, she transitioned into private dispute resolution, serving as a mediator and arbitrator.
Jackie Glass leaves behind an extraordinary legacy spanning broadcasting, journalism, law and public service. She was a remarkable member of the Las Vegas community whose professional life touched countless lives and whose contributions extended far beyond the courtroom.
