Three of Thailand’s prominent protest leaders are to be taken to the Criminal Court in Bangkok on Monday, with the Thai police seeking to have them held on remand on more charges, which were filed against them while they were recuperating at Rama 9 Hospital.

The Centre for Human Rights Lawyers, which has been representing the charged anti-establishment protesters, told the media that the Pathumwan district police filed charges against Panasaya “Rung” Sitthijirawattanakul at the hospital on Saturday night. They relate to protests on June 5th and the other on October 16th.

The centre says that police, from Pae district of Rayong province, are also to file charges, today (Sunday), against Panupong Jardnok, alias Mike Rayong, related to an incident in the eastern province, when he held up a protest poster as Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha was on an inspection trip there on August 24th.

Meanwhile, police from Ubon Ratchathani intend to file charges against Parit “Penguin” Chivarak, for his role in the protest on August 22nd in the northeastern province.

The trio have been treated at Rama 9 Hospital after being released on bail by the Criminal Court on Friday.
