The damaged section of the Pink Line railway is expected to be fully repaired by the end of this month, according to director of Northern Bangkok Monorail (NBM), Surapong Laoha-Unya today.

Several kilometres of aluminium conductor rail on the monorail system became detached and partially fell onto Tiwanon Road in Nonthaburi province on December 24th last year.

The accident caused immediate suspension of train services from the Nonthaburi Civic Centre station to the Pak Kret bypass station, pending investigation and repairs.

Surapong said that the components necessary for the conductor rail repairs are being shipped, and will arrive on January 15th.

The Pink Line reopened for public service on January 7th, except to four stations closed awaiting replacement of the conductor rail. The rest of the line operates daily from 6am to midnight with a 15% discount on ticket fares, which range from 13 baht up to 38 baht, until the line is fully operational.
