A huge fire broke out at an electronic parts company in Rayong’s Pluak Daeng district this afternoon.
The blaze, at the factory of Sun In Electronics (Thailand), started at about 1 pm and sent large columns of black smoke billowing into the sky, which could be seen from a considerable distance.
Ban Klong Kram School, about three kilometres from the factory, sent their students home and advised people in the area to wear face masks.
At the press time, firefighters using water trucks had brought the fire under control, but have been unable to extinguish it fully.
