Thirteen areas in Bangkok and its suburbs have excessive amounts of PM2.5 dust in the air today (Thursday), while the air quality of other areas remains good, according to the Pollution Control Department.
The Meteorological Department said that the poor air quality in some areas is being caused by an accumulation of dust due to poor air circulation, as a result of the weakening cold weather system from China, which has been covering northern Thailand for the past few days.
Meanwhile, wind from the Gulf is gaining strength as it moves inland, resulting in morning fog and isolated rain, said the Weatherman.
The 13 areas as reported on the air4thai website of the Pollution Control Department are as follows:
• Kanchanapisek Road in Krathum Ban district of Samut Sakhon, 51 microns
• Omnoi subdistrict in Krathum Ban district, 54 microns
• Maha Chai subdistrict in Muang district of Samut Sakhon, 57 microns
• Lat Phrao Road in Wang Thong Lang district of Bangkok, 52 microns
• Din Daeng Road in Din Daeng district of Bangkok, 55 microns
• Khlong Goom in Bung Goom district of Bangkok, 51 microns
• Krung Kasem Road in Pom Prab district of Bangkok, 52 microns
• Lat Krabang Road in Lat Krabang district, Bangkok, 52 microns
• Srinakharin Road in Prawet district of Bangkok, 52 microns
• Charoen Nakhon Road in Khlong San district, Bangkok, 51 microns
• Tha Phra Road intersection in Bangkok Yai district, Bangkok, 56 microns
• Petkasem Road in Phasi Charoen district, Bangkok, 52 microns
