A Move Forward MP from Samut Songkhram province, who collapsed during the joint parliamentary sitting to elect a prime minister on Tuesday, remains in hospital, but his condition is improving.
Arnuparp Likhitamnuaychai posted a photo of himself, on oxygen and in a hospital bed, on his Facebook page.
“I’m safe now. I just changed my sleeping place. May I take a rest for now? Thanks to everybody for worrying about me,” he wrote.
When he collapsed during the vote for the new premier, one of his colleagues, Dr. Tosaporn Serirak of Pheu Thai party, rushed to his aid. A medical team was immediately called to administer CPR, before he was taken to Vajira Hospital by ambulance.
Wiroj Lakkhanaadisorn, a Move Forward MP, tweeted today (Wednesday) that he visited Arnuparp in hospital adding “He has regained consciousness and is safe, but he must continue receiving medical treatment.”
Arnuparp, 44, is a first-time MP who managed to defeat five-time elected MP Rangsima Rodrasamee of the United Thai Nation party in the May general election.
