Anon, Pai denied bail
Anti-government protesters from five human rights advocacy groups rallied in a “car mob” today (Friday) to demand the release of seven core leaders of the anti-government Ratsadon group, who have been held on remand for about a month.
Starting at the Democracy Monument at about noon, which took them to Thon Buri via the Phra Pinklao Bridge over the Chao Phraya River, along Borommaratchachonnani Road, returning to Bangkok via the Rama VII Bridge and on to the Criminal Court on Ratchadapisek Road, where they submitted the petition.
The procession later moved to the Bangkok Remand Prison, where the seven leaders are being held pending trial on multiple charges, ranging from incitement of unrest and lèse majesté, to violations of the Emergency Decree and the Communicable Disease Act.
In the meantime, the Thai Lawyers for Human Rights (TLHR) also lodged petitions with the criminal courts in Bangkok and Pathum Thani province today.
Among those in jail are Parit “Penguin” Chiwarak, Anon Nampa, Panupong Jadnok, alias “Mike Rayong”, and Jatupat Boonpattararaksa, aka “Pai Daodin”. The bail request for Anon and Mike have been denied, according to the TLHR.
