Weezie’s

A more recent Eccleston Yard hit is Amie Wine Studio, the wine bar and event space run by the creative team behind Amie wine. Last year, they enhanced their presence by opening a pizza restaurant. Weezie’s focuses on thin-crust pizzas, topped with the likes of mozzarella, swirled watercress, whipped labneh and smoked pickle dressing; sobrasada, charred sweetcorn, hot honey drizzle and parmesan dust; and – my pick – the White Hot, a white pizza topped with teardrop pears, hot honey, stracciatella and Calabrian chillis. As well as serving its excellent Amie wines, the team knows how to pour a cracking Guinness.

Bleecker Burger

Bleecker Burger was one of the London street-food truck operators that had the capital in a chokehold back in 2012, alongside the likes of Lucky Chip and Patty & Bun. Among all the US-style patties that were front and centre back then, Zan Kaufman’s Bleecker burgers were always my favourite. And even today, when every London neighbourhood is home to a smashburger joint, I still rate Bleecker highly. There are now three sites across Spitalfields, Bank and Victoria. Sadly it doesn’t sell its excellent Bleecker Black anymore (a double cheeseburger with black pudding), but the Bleecker Blue (a combo of beef, blue cheese, onion, lettuce and house sauce) is a more than worthy replacement.

Address: 205 Victoria Street, SW1E 5NE
