ROAD TO LION FIGHT RETURNS WITH ‘BATTLE OF BRITAIN’
Written by Muay Thai

Lion Fight’s 2022 schedule will launch with its first Road to Lion Fight event of the season, and for the first time in Road to LF series history, a major title will be at stake in the main event.

The opening show of the year dubbed “Battle of Britain” takes place on Saturday, March 5 at the Windsor Leisure Center just outside London, England, and is headlined by a showdown for the Lion Fight European Super Welterweight title between Luke Bar and Josh Breslin. Also topping the marquee is the return of electrifying British knockout artist Dan Tracey, whose last appearance inside the Lion Fight ring produced a 17-second finish.

This Road to Lion Fight event, produced in partnership with Hybrid Fight Series, will air live on pay-per-view via MMATV.co.uk beginning at 6:45 p.m. GMT (1:45 p.m. EST-USA). Head to www.mmatv.co.uk/muay-thai/hybrid-fight-series to get all the action.

Luke Bar (35-24-4) vs. Josh Breslin (9-0) – Lion Fight European Super Welterweight title (70 kg / 154 lbs.)

More than 60 of Bar’s professional fights have taken place in Thailand and he is now looking to make his mark in the UK. Meanwhile, Breslin is one of the most-decorated young fighters on the UK Muay Thai scene, and the top-drawer prospect, who is already a national champion, has a huge opportunity to get himself into the Lion Fight World title picture.

Dan Tracey (17-3) vs. Lewis Childs (18-9) – Super Middleweight (75 kg / 165 lbs.)

Few fighters in Europe inspire more fear than Tracey, who has pure dynamite in his hands. Seven of his 17 wins have come inside the first round and only twice has he gone into the third round. Tracey made his promotional debut at Lion Fight 71 and notched a devastating 17-second knockout of Chris Donaldson. The hard-nosed veteran Childs will look for redemption after a knockout loss to Charlie McGhee at Lion Fight 68.

Daniela Miranda (8-7) vs. Iony Lawrence (pro debut) – Women’s Bantamweight (53 kg / 118 lbs.)

Top-flight prospect Lawrence will test her skills against the seasoned veteran Miranda with both competitors looking to make their mark in the discipline of Muay Thai.

Alex Bublea (81-39) vs. Manuel Mancini (12-2) – Super Middleweight (71 kg / 156 lbs.)

Bublea, a regional champion in the UK, is looking for some redemption inside the Lion Fight ring after a loss to Enrico Carrara that boosted him into World title contention and ultimately winning the championship. Mancini will look to follow in the same path laid out by fellow Italian Carrara after coming up with regional title wins in his home country and New Zealand.

Gary Lewis (7-2) vs. Tawab Mousavi (pro debut) – Welterweight (65 kg / 143 lbs.)

The veteran Lewis is a regional champion out of Wales, while Mousavi enters the ring for the first time as a pro, but does have over 100 amateur bouts to his credit.

Kenneth Cruz (7-5) vs. Jordan Swinton (8-2) – Featherweight (57 kg / 126 lbs.)

Cruz has an edge in overall Muay Thai experience, but Swinton is highly regarded and a former amateur champion.
