PM says King keeps abreast with search and rescue operations

Written by Thailand News

His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn has been closely monitoring the search and rescue operations at Tham Luang cave in Chiang Rai’s Mae Sai province and has given moral support to families of the 12 school boys and a coach trapped inside the cave since last Saturday, said Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha Friday night.

In his weekly nation-wide address, he also said HM the King had arranged for food and drinks to all the people involved in the search and rescue operations and wished them safe and be successful in their mission.

However, the prime minister said that this unusual event had reflected “a lot of things for everyone of us that I cannot ignore or let go with this crisis without reflecting or raising as an opportunity to do something useful to our society – that is the collective spirit of the Thai people that unite into one, that when it is happy time, we are happy together and in an event of sufferings, we suffer together.”

“But more importantly, we must have conscience so there will be wisdom in solving problems,” said the prime minister.
