Ex-PM Chavalit files police complaint, accusing group of abusing his name
Written by Thailand News

Former prime minister Chavalit Yongchaiyudh has filed a complaint with police accusing a group of people of using his name and his foundation to seek interests.

The complaint was filed with Bang Sue police this morning by his lawyer Somporn Musika and personal secretary Sukhum Wongprasit.

Mr Somporn said a group of about 10 people had claimed to be close to Gen Chavalit, his wife and his foundation for fraudulent purposes.  He estimated damage to be worth more than 100 million baht.

One of the group member even claimed to be a minor wife of Gen Chavalit, he said.

The lawyer said Gen Chavalit had told these people to stop abusing his name but they did not heed his warning.
