Two youths were apprehended, given a lecture and fined by Thonglor police on Thursday for carrying stunt acts in public places in a way which caused public nuisance.
Pol Col Kachornpong Chitparkpoom, superintendent of Thonglor police, said that the two teenagers whose identities were withheld admitted to their misbehavior and expressed their regret for their stunt acts which might cause disturbances to the other people.
They told the police that they were inspired by a clip from a western movie.
The two were among a group of youths who were shown in widely-shared video clips staging stunt acts at Asoke Montri and other crowded locations. The stunt acts included jumping on the roofs of cars caught in traffic and skate-boarding down the staircases of overhead bridges.
Pol Gen Chalermkiat Sriworakhan, the national deputy police chief, said that although no formal complaints had been filed against the group, their stunt acts were a public nuisance and might cause damages to the properties of the other people – an offence liable to a fine of up to 5,000 baht.
