Written by Thailand News

Railway workers at Hua Lamphong railway terminal have been working since this morning (Sunday) to remove a derailed train carriage, to fix damaged rail tracks in order to restore normal train service.
In-bound and out-bound train service at Hua Lamphong train station has been suspended after a carriage of Bangkokp-Kaeng Khoi train Noo 342 derailed as it was approaching the station.
An official of the State Railway of Thailand the carriage derailed at the time when a mechanic shifted the rail track.  The derailed carriage tilted one side, blocking both in-bound and out-bound rail tracks.  There were three passengers in the derailed carriage, but none of them were hurt.
All trains leaving Hua Lamphong station were suspended and in-bound trains with destinations at Hua Lampohong were forced to stop at Bang Sue or Samsen stations to allow passengers to disembark as workers tried to fix the problem.

SRT originally estimated that the maintenance would take about three hours.
