The National Legislative Assembly approved in principle the government’s three trillion baht budget for 2019 fiscal year after seven hours of debates on Thursday night.
A total of 197 out of 200 assemblymen who attended the parliamentary session voted in support of the budget bill with three abstentions.
A 50-member extraordinary committee comprising 10 representing the cabinet and the rest from the NLA was then formed to scrutinize the budget bill.
