Written by Thailand News

People who plan to travel to Vietnam and Hainan Island of China during June 5-8 should check the weather before their departure, the Thai Meteorological Department warned today.

The department said in an announcement that as of 10am today the tropical depression over the middle South China Sea was centred about 250 kilometres east of Danang, Vietnam. It is moving slowly in the northerly direction with maximum sustained winds of about 55km/hour and will be over Hainan Island, China, during June 5-8.

People who plan to travel to Vietnam and Hainan Island during this period are advised to check the weather forecast before their departure.  However, the storm is having no direct impact on Thailand.

Meanwhile, the southwest monsoon continues to prevail over the Andaman Sea, the South and the Gulf of Thailand. This will cause more rain and isolated heavy rain in the North, Northeast, the Central, the East and the South during this period.
