Kalasin’s Muang district police superintendent has been ordered transferred to the provincial police operations centre after he was found to be out of the district during Songkran festival .
Pol Maj-Gen Montri Charunpong, the Kalasin provincial police commander, said on Sunday(Apr 15) that he ordered Pol Col Ratchapol Sermsarun to be moved out of Muang district because the latter was not on duty in the district on Saturday as required and also there were two scuffle cases involving youths at a Songkran event held at the Pong Land circle in front of Wat Sawang Kongka in municipal area.
He said he personally went to the spot and found the traffic there was very congested and there were only 13 policemen on duty at the spot. When he made a phone call to find out where Colonel Ratchapol was and was told that he was out of the district.
He said the police colonel had defied his order to be in the district to ensure peace and order.
