Nong Ya Plong district declared temporary epidemic zone for rabies

The Nong Ya Plong district livestock office in Phetchaburi province has declared the district a temporary epidemic zone for rabies after one dog was found to be infected with the deadly disease.

Mr Isara Lasudta, the district livestock official, said that the male dog, about one year and five months, in Village 4 of Tambon Nong Ya Plong, was found to be infected with rabies on April 11.

The epidemic zone has come into force as of April 11 until May 10.

Earlier, Tha Yang and Khao Yoi districts were declared epidemic zones for rabies by livestock officials of the two respective districts.
