Huge fire engulfs a timber factory in Bang Pa-in

A huge timber factory in Ayutthaya’s Bang Pa-in district caught fire at about 5 pm on Thursday(Apr 12).

More than ten fire trucks were rushed to the scene of the inferno at Palace timber factory, located on a two-rai land plot on Route 347 at kilometer marker 19+800 in Tambon Bang Krasan, Ban Pa-in district to try to contain the fire from spreading to a nearby petrol station.

Pol Cpt Kittithorn Salyaruen, deputy inspector of Bang Pa-in district police, said that, for safety reason and for ensuring uninterrupted fire-fighting effort, all cars using Route 347 between Pathum Thani and Bang Pahan were diverted to Route 9 or the western ring road to get into Asian highway.

He said that the factory stored a huge amount of old timber.

Firemen were still unable to put off the fire at the time of this report.
