Singapore Police Force (SPF) has arrest of a 41-year-old male passenger on board a Scoot flight TR634 from Singapore to Hat Yai of Songkhla province for allegedly making false bomb threat today (April 5).
Flight TR634, which left Changi Airport at 1.20pm, was escorted back by two Republic of Singapore Air Force fighter jets, after the authorities were alerted to an alleged bomb threat on board, The Strait Times reports.
A 41-year-old man has been arrested for making a false bomb threat. Police did not give further details about the suspect.
Preliminary investigations indicated that the suspect had claimed he had a bomb in his hand-carry baggage to a crew member, said police. The plane was turned back on the pilot’s request.
“Police checked the plane and the baggages of the passenger who made the bomb threat and his two travelling companions and found no threat,” the SPF reported on its Facebook page.

Scoot said in a statement on Thursday afternoon that the aircraft landed safely at 3.23pm. All 173 passengers and six crew members were safe.
It added that the flight has been rescheduled to resume its journey to Hat Yai at 6.30pm.
In a statement on Thursday night, police said: “The Police treat all security threats seriously and will not hesitate to take action against anyone who causes public alarm.”
