Pink Line construction now moves to Ram Indra

Pink Line construction now moves to Ram Indra
Written by Thailand News

The Mass Rapid Transit Authority (MRTA) on Monday announced the closure of some sections of the Ram Indra road from April 2 to make way for the construction of the Pink Line from Nonthaburi’s Khae Rai district to Bangkok’s Min Buri district.

It said the section of the road which will be closed to traffic is Yaek Nuanchan to Esso petrol station.

It said the closure will facilitate Sino-Thai Engineering to remove public infrastructure along the section.

Details of the traffic closure are as follow:

– 24-hour closure of the furthest right traffic lane to Min Buri.
– Closure of another right lane on the outbound traffic lane to Min Buri from 10.00pm-4.00am to allow the construction company to move in heavy machinery to the construction site.

The MRTA said the closure is expected to cause traffic congestion and noise annoyance is also expected during the construction.

However it said traffic signs will be erected and lights installed to ensure safety for motorists passing the road.

Motorists should avoid that section by using Panya Indra, Serithai or Art Narong-Ram Indra Expressway instead.

The 34.5 kilometre-long line will start from the Nonthaburi government complex, then pass through Tiwanon Road to Pak Kret intersection, and move onto Chaeng Watthana Road through Muangthong Thani. It will then continue to Ram Indra Road to reach its terminal station in Min Buri, where there will also be a parking lot. There are altogether 30 stations along the line.
